I just opened the mail and found the “Certificate of Election” from the Board of Elections for our “write-in” victory in last month’s Independence Party primary. I must admit it brought a smile to my face.

To those that say the good guys never win in politics, we beg to differ at the Maisano Campaign.  The Independence Party bosses conducted a fraudulent endorsement process, and then tried to throw our supporters out of the party in court before the primary (and they failed).  On primary day, the Independence Party voters rose up, overturned the decision of the party bosses and gave us a 103 to 23 write-in victory.  I’ll say that’s a win for the good guys!
